Have you ever had a dream? Or many?

One of mine was to experience the Sahara meeting the Atlantic…So I accepted an invitation to a traditional Moroccan wedding in Marrakech and took the opportunity to fly to Dakhla in Western Sahara, the southernmost part of Morocco to fulfill that dream. This is an area where the undercurrents of dissent run strong (tribal issues are politically influenced by a neighbouring country) However the larger part of the population are happy, as the King (or central government 1800 km away) are…investing heavily in the (bountiful) fishing industry, building roads, schools, creating jobs etc.

I however chose a hotel somewhat out of town, right next to a beautiful bay…tranquil, quiet, simple and stunning. I spent my time roaming and meditating in the Sahara and playing on the white, white beaches, discovering the illusions of the mirage (one had cars floating on water!), enjoying and observing the unseen…I felt how water and fire interacted…harmoniously. I felt the power of the mighty Atlantic meeting the fierce and mighty Sahara…dancing a dance of power, not of competition, a harmonious dance which was very regenerating to me.

This…we can do in our businesses and our lives, finding a certain balance and harmony…creating successful enterprises based on collaboration. If you start to believe that the life you are living is never going to change…that your life is what it is. Well…the best way I can describe it is exactly how I saw it in Morocco or you can see it for yourself if you don’t believe me. My eyes saw a floating car in the Atlantic. Can cars float? Is your life stuck in neutral? And if so, does that mean you are doomed to live a complacent life?
