Kung Hei Fat Choi and happy year of the Sheep (Goat? Ram?) I have just landed in New York where I shall celebrate what for us Hong Kongers is an important holiday, the beginning of a new year, and I wanted to share a vision I had as a young woman considering her future\u2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The headline would read\u2026.\u201dSecretary General Jacqueline Muller ends War\u201d<\/strong>. I was 16 years old at the time and I was dreaming about what I would do to change the world.  I would start by becoming an interpreter at the UN Geneva headquarters and then work my way up to Secretary General; so I embarked on the adventure of learning Russian, which I felt that in the future, would be a world language along with Arabic and Chinese\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was always drawn to the United Nations. Their mission statement<\/a> rang true to the idealist in me:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201d\u2026maintaining international peace and security, promoting human rights, fostering social and economic development, protecting the environment, and providing humanitarian aid in cases of famine, natural disaster, and armed conflict.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I grew up in an environment where I was exposed to many different cultures and nationalities and from a young age, that statement reflected my own world view. I am fluent in 6 different languages and was exposed to people\u2019s customs, which, incidentally, was very beneficial when I ventured into the corporate world. However, it was my ability to understand how people live, what affects them, what makes them who they are, what makes them tick that really served me well over the years.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And so the headline will read\u2026\u201d RENOWNED EXECUTIVE COACH JACQUELINE MULLER will give the UN a gift to seed peace\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yes indeed, after so many years I am going to walk into the United Nations headquarters in New York City on 17th February 2015 and ground my dream!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m excited to be able to provide the leaders of the UN my gift of meditation, a tool that they ( and everybody) can use to create a different world, starting by inside one\u2019s self\u2026\u201dPeace is an inside job<\/em><\/strong>\u201d. People in leadership roles absorb and process continually heightened levels of stress. This stress becomes \u201cnormal\u201d, accepted as part of the role and forgotten. Feeling responsible for the world, facing world challenges, takes its toll.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I will lead them through a short meditation that will allow them to \u201ctake a holiday from daily life\u201d, recharge themselves in a relaxing, comfortable way. I plan to record that meditation and provide them a copy, because done regularly, it will bring renewed clarity, contentment and\u2026\u2026. peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Life has a funny way of happening: I am way past 16 and I didn\u2019t become the UN Secretary General, however, when I stand at the UN this week, I shall stop for a second, take a deep breath, look around, take in the moment and be thankful for the opportunity\u2026 Would you like your world to change?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here is to your year of the Sheep, your contentment and to your success!  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
